About the Firm

With over 22 years of legal experience, Mr. Korteling formed the Law Offices of David P. Korteling after 15 years with a mid-sized law firm based in Bethesda, where he was a partner focusing on business law, tax, litigation and family law. Prior to that, he was a partner in a boutique litigation firm, and he began his legal career as an associate with an estate planning and business law firm that served as in-house counsel for a regional accounting firm.

His diverse background in law, accounting, finance, and business enables Mr. Korteling to provide high quality integrated legal services across practice areas, with the experience, resources and expertise normally found only in larger Montgomery County law firms.

Mr. Korteling is admitted to practice in Maryland, Virginia, and the U.S. District Court, District of Columbia, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, U.S. District Court, District of Maryland, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, United States Tax Court, and U.S. Supreme Court.
